"Diamond chocolate goddess
Worship raw sausage
you delicate summer woman
Pounds on the enormous lazy butt
Sweat and trudge to the music
Need the lucious beautiful picture
one less pant size and a tiny sweat peach please"

This Poem was written with poetic refrigerator magnets by my roommate Lauren Swan.
The poem demonstrates some of the topics discussed in class.  First of all it shows the idea
of schizophrenia that was talked about.  In the beginning of the poem it seems that raw
sausage is wanted, but in the end of the poem the sausage is given up for “a tiny sweet peach.”
This trade off of the sausage to the peach is done to try and achieve that skinny “luscious
beautiful picture” look that is so commonly seen in glamour magazines and elsewhere in the media.
Which brings about another topic we have discussed, the idea that the youth of today want to
look like the models/actresses that are portrayed in the media.  This poem is a kind of proof
that some of the topics discussed in class are a problem.
